Jeffrey Grogger, the Irving Harris Professor in Urban Policy at the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy, will join us on Friday, October 26 to present “The Wage Penalty of Regional Accents”as part of the Department of Economics Spring Seminar Series.
Grogger earned his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, San Diego. Before joining Harris, he taught at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has served as a coeditor of the Journal of Human Resources, as chair of the National Longitudinal Surveys Technical Review Committee, as a research associate for the National Bureau of Economic Research, and as a research fellow with the Institute for the Study of Labor.
