This one-hour presentation begins by explaining Sinophobia—“the discrimination and social exclusion against Chinese people, which has been extended to Asians at large” (Schild et al 2020: 14)—and how it has manifested itself since the outbreak of COVID-19. The talk concludes by providing implications for CEHS teachers and instructors and a discussion of anti-racist curricula that might relate to this topic. Presented by Theresea Catalano and Peiwen Wang.

Introducing the CEHS AFIRE Pledge Program! Faculty and staff in the college will have the opportunity to take a pledge to strive for inclusive excellence in 2020. The pledge will contain a commitment to attend at least three events each semester to increase awareness and knowledge about diversity and inclusion issues and strategies for inclusive excellence.
