Talk title: Preventing Violence among Queer Youth Using Anti-Oppressive Frameworks
Summary: Research suggests that queer youth experience disproportionately high rates of violence rooted in systems of oppression. Prevention of violence among queer youth thus requires anti-oppressive approaches. The purpose of this talk is to review recent research conducted by Dr. Edwards (Associate Professor, CYFS and EDPS) and her team on rates, causes, and prevention of violence among queer youth that uses an anti-oppressive framework.
Speaker: Dr. Katie Edwards Research Associate Professor in the Center for Children, Youth, Families, and Schools
Bring your brown bag lunch. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
