Join us for the 6th Nebraska Youth Climate Summit. The Summit brings together young people from across the state to learn about the impacts of climate change and positive actions to respond to them. This free event is open to young people ages 15 to 25 as well as educators or adult sponsors of youth groups participating in the summit. Lunch and other
refreshments provided.

Featuring:
• Keynote speaker: Emeka Anyanwu became CEO of Lincoln Electric System (LES), the public utility serving Lincoln, Nebraska, in January 2024. Prior to LES, he served
as Energy Innovation & Resources officer at Seattle City Light, one of the nation’s largest community-owned, not-for-profit utilities. In that role, he was responsible for leading strategic functions that included utility technology, information security, electrification, grid modernization,
and current and future power resource strategy. Emeka has been an active participant and contributor in industry
discussions throughout his career. His recent awards include the Smart Electric Power Alliance’s Individual 2021 Power Player of the Year and the Energy Thought Summit’s
2023 Thought Leader of the Year.
• Featured presenters: Presenters include State Senator Anna Wishart, State Climatologist Deborah Bathke, Norfolk
Mayor Josh Moenning, Youth Leaders, and a presentation on a Green Amendment for Nebraska.
• Theme: This year’s theme is Empowering Youth for Climate Action and includes table conversations and breakouts about ways young people can make their voices heard.
