CICL 801 is a course offered to students who have built up their Chinese language skills at more advanced levels through past studies, with the aim to teach basic skills in appreciation of children’s poetry and writing simple compositions. Students are encouraged to write short essays about their daily life experiences with the aid of a Chinese dictionary and under the guidance of a teacher. Students are required to recite some simple and popular children’s poems learned in class.
Students are also expected to be able to take HSK Level 3 or 4 at the end of the class.
