SUMMARY:Women in Science Roundtable

DESCRIPTION:The University of Nebraska–Lincoln's Association for Women in
  Science will host roundtable discussions on challenges for women in STEM 
 fields from noon to 1\:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Nebraska East Union\, Prairie
  Suite.\n\nAt the event\, participants will have the opportunity to networ
 k and engage in roundtable discussions on a variety of challenges that wom
 en in STEM encounter in their professional and personal lives. Tables will
  focus on a specific topic of interest\, such as mentoring (both as mentor
  and mentee)\, navigating career transitions\, navigating power differenti
 als in one’s career\, dual-career issues\, integration of work and paren
 ting\, and other life challenges.\n\nAt a set time\, attendees will be enc
 ouraged to move to a different table so that they can participate in diffe
 rent discussions as they wish. During the final portion of the event\, att
 endees will share highlights of their roundtable discussions. Raising awar
 eness and encouraging problem-solving around these issues are goals for th
 e AWIS organization\, as well as for campus as a whole.\n\nThe event is op
 en to all faculty\, staff\, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students
 . Registration is not required. Participants are welcome to bring brown ba
 g lunches\, and desserts and refreshments will be provided.\n\nFor more in
