The annual event showcases research and creative accomplishments by University of Nebraska–Lincoln graduate and undergraduate students. Huskers from all majors and disciplines are encouraged to participate.
The student poster session and creative exhibition is April 11-12 in the Nebraska Union. The deadline to register a poster or creative project is March 11. Top graduate presenters will be awarded $400, and top undergraduate presenters will be awarded $250.
Faculty, staff and graduate students are sought to help judge the student posters. Complete?this form to register as a poster session reviewer. Volunteers are also needed to help with event setup and cleanup. Interested faculty, staff and students can sign up here for a time slot.
For more information on the poster sessions, contact Sonya Irons at sirons3@unl.edu or Lisa Rohde at lrohde2@unl.edu.
This year also marks the first-ever Student Research Days Slam, which is 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 13 at the Wick Alumni Center. The campuswide contest will feature graduate and undergraduate students representing any discipline presenting their work in short, engaging presentations.
Applicants must submit by March 28 a 90-second video application via Flipgrid answering the slam theme — “What skill or ability have you developed through your research experience or creative activity that you think would make the world better if everyone had it?”.
Five finalists will be selected to present their work. The winner, decided by the audience, receives a $500 prize. All other finalists each receive $100.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend and support the scholars. Registration to attend is required.
For more information, visit the slam webpage or contact Jocelyn Bosley at jbosley@unl.edu.
Student Research Days will also feature a Nebraska Lecture by Raymond Hames, professor of anthropology in the School of Global Integrative Studies; and graduate student workshops on leveraging funding opportunities and considering the broader impacts of research.
Student Research Days are hosted by the offices of Undergraduate Research, Graduate Studies and Research and Economic Development.
