Hear of the early Japanese immigrants, the effects of WWII, and the changing laws of Nebraska that impacted their lives, including recent connections to Japan. Time for questions after the presentation will also be given.

Vickie Sakurada Schaepler is a member of the History Nebraska Board of Trustees and the Buffalo County Historical Society. She is currently working on a project to preserve a Japanese Hall that was built in 1928 and has recently moved to the Legacy of the Plains Museum in Gering, Nebraska, to prevent its destruction and preserve the history of the Japanese in Nebraska and the High Plains.
