There is increasing awareness about the change in the professoriate from largely tenure track (30%) to non-tenure track-NTTF (70%). What leaders and tenure track faculty are often less aware of is how NTTF positions have been constructed, making it very difficult for them to perform their roles as teachers, researchers, or clinical/administrative roles. In the session, Dr. Kezar will focus on ways NTTF roles can be enhanced through support that allow them to Optimally perform to their potential through appropriate orientation, mentoring, professional development, evaluation, involvement in shared governance, and other important processes.

Adrianna Kezar is Dean’s Professor of Leadership, Wilbur-Kieffer Professor of Higher Education at the University of Southern California, and Director of the Pullias Center for Higher Education within the Rossier School of Education. Dr. Kezar is a national expert on student success, equity and diversity, the changing faculty, change, governance, and leadership in higher education. Kezar is well published with 20 books/monographs, over 100 journal articles, and a hundred book chapters and reports.
