The University of Nebraska Lincoln (UNL) has launched the BRIDGE (Breakthrough Recruitment for Inclusive Diversity Growth and Excellence) initiative. A major component of this initiative is the comprehensive guidance document for faculty and staff recruitment and searches (University of Nebraska Faculty and Staff Search Best Practices Guide for Inclusive Excellence https://diversity.unl.edu/faculty-staff-search-guidance). We invite and encourage those who are involved in faculty and staff searches to participate in an interactive education/training session with a focus on developing an inclusive excellence mindset in the search process. In alignment with the campus N2025 Strategic goals and the search guidance document you will examine evidenced best practices that are intended to enhance the recruitment process, strengthen the diversity and inclusion of our applicant pools, and foster inclusive excellence in interviews and applicant assessment. Protocols for campus visits and early retention strategies are also discussed.
