The College of Law is excited to announce the addition of the Nebraska Innocence Clinic! The clinic will launch this coming Spring 2025 semester. Students enrolled in the Nebraska Innocence Clinic will work on cases seeking to free innocent people from prison for crimes they did not commit.
This information session is being held on International Wrongful Convictions Day, which is a day to raise awareness of the causes and remedies of wrongful conviction and to recognize the tremendous personal, social, and emotional costs of wrongful conviction for innocent people and their families. Professor Elizabeth Cole will share her perspectives about doing wrongful convictions work, as well as the opportunities for students to engage in this work as a part of the Clinic. Details regarding the application and selection process and associated deadlines will also be discussed.
