Nitric oxide is an important molecule in all biological systems, both healthy and diseased, but it is poorly understood. One of the biggest obstacles faced in the nitricoxide research community is the lack of a sensor. The Iverson Lab is engineering new devices and techniques to improve the usability of a recently developed carbon nanotube sensor and using the sensor to improve understanding of the role of nitric
oxide in cells and animals.
