Time:

Additional Info: NEU
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Association for Women in Science will host roundtable discussions on challenges for women in STEM fields from noon to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 1 in the Nebraska East Union, Prairie Suite.

At the event, participants will have the opportunity to network and engage in roundtable discussions on a variety of challenges that women in STEM encounter in their professional and personal lives. Tables will focus on a specific topic of interest, such as mentoring (both as mentor and mentee), navigating career transitions, navigating power differentials in one’s career, dual-career issues, integration of work and parenting, and other life challenges.

At a set time, attendees will be encouraged to move to a different table so that they can participate in different discussions as they wish. During the final portion of the event, attendees will share highlights of their roundtable discussions. Raising awareness and encouraging problem-solving around these issues are goals for the AWIS organization, as well as for campus as a whole.

The event is open to all faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers and graduate students. Registration is not required. Participants are welcome to bring brown bag lunches, and desserts and refreshments will be provided.
