The details:
When: Friday, February 27th, 4 to 5:30 p.m.
Where: Zen’s Lounge (122 N. 11th Street) — only a short walk from campus!
Who: Caitie Leibman and Kim Tedrow
Here’s a taste of what you’ll hear from Caitie Leibman:
excerpted from “Bites”
I dream of broken teeth, of chips and chunks emerging from the cave of my mouth, hopeless spaces in my smile. But no one gives a fuck about anybody else’s dreams, unless they’ve married a dreamer, so let me tell you about my broken dish. It and I were covered in pearly bubbles of dish soap when the plate slipped from my hands and banged its lip on the ceramic sink.
from Kim Tedrow:
excerpted from “Twenty Years Later”
What could I have told myself
then, glazed with passion,
the moon tagging me down the coast?
These days she creeps through my kitchen
shines the sink dry, a spirit in sensible shoes.
