THE LIFE AND LITERATURE OF JOHN G. NEIHARDT

Though he is best known for his book Black Elk Speaks, John G. Neihardt also is poet laureate in perpetuity of Nebraska and was the author of poems, stories, and essays about literature, science, Native Americans, and the settlement of the American West. This special one-day symposium, sponsored by the University of Nebraska Press and the Center for Great Plains Studies, will feature talks exploring the larger life and writing of Neihardt.
