The information session will be held online from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday, March 7.

In late 2023, Nebraska EPSCoR will announce a limited submission competition to identify the team that will develop the state’s next RII Track-1 proposal, which is expected to be submitted to NSF during July 2025.
The goal for the March 7 session is to educate the University of Nebraska-Lincoln research community about what it takes to prepare a competitive RII Track-1 proposal and lead a successful project. During the session:
• JD Swanson, NSF EPSCoR Program Director, will provide an overview of RII Track-1 competition requirements.
• Matt Andrews, Director of Nebraska EPSCoR, will discuss how his office interfaces with RII Track-1 teams and outline the vision for his office’s new RII Track-1 Planning Grant request for proposals. https://epscor.nebraska.edu/-/media/projects/epscor/documents/other/epscor-track-1-planning-grant-rfp-final.pdf
• Nebraska faculty members Christian Binek (EQUATE https://equate.unl.edu/welcome) and Ed Cahoon (CRRI https://crri.unl.edu/home) will share their experiences and lessons learned leading RII Track-1 projects.
Please make plans to participate if you are interested in RII Track-1 and your schedule permits. The information session will not be recorded.
Finally, individuals interested in RII Track-1 should familiarize themselves with the following resources: the Nebraska EPSCoR Science and Technology Plan https://epscor.nebraska.edu/-/media/projects/epscor/documents/approved2020stplan.pdf, the recent report on Envisioning the Future of NSF EPSCoR https://nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/2022-08/Envisioning-The-Future-of-EPSCoR-Report.pdf, and the 2M Study of the Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research https://nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/2022-06/EPSCoR%20Base%20Period%20Final%20Report%20-%20%28508%20Compliant%29.pdf.
