How a beef operation is managed can make a significant difference in how profitable it is. With so many variables to consider, such as feed and fuel costs and up-and-down markets – managing profitability and maintaining a healthy bottom line can present an ongoing challenge.</p>
<p>UNL Extension will offer beef profitability workshops on February 4 to help producers meet these challenges. The sessions will be held at two different locations. The afternoon session will be held at the Washington County Extension Office, 597 Grant St., Blair, NE. and the evening session will be held UNL Extension in Saunders County office at the ARDC. </p>
<p>Washington County session is from 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. </p>
<p>Saunders County session is from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Registration begins at 6:00 p.m. </p>
<p>Richard Randle, UNL Extension Beef Cattle Veterinarian, will address calving management and Bruce Anderson, UNL Extension Forage Specialist, will address pasture management. </p>
<p>Pre-registration is encouraged by phone, fax, e-mail or mail 1 week in advance – discounts apply. </p>
<p>Registration fee is $10 by Jan. 28/ $15 after Jan. 28 or at the door. Please indicate which location you will attend at when registering.</p>
