Sarah Deer, a leading researcher and advocate on the issue of violence against Native women, will deliver remarks on how we can address these injustices. Before her remarks, we will show a short film to sensitize listeners to the issue of missing and murdered indigenous women. After her remarks, she will take questions from the audience. Her remarks will be followed by a reception and meet and greet, which will begin at 8:30 pm in the Heritage Room.
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s Forsythe Family Program on Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs (HRHA), along with other UNL and community partners, will host a week of human rights activities to raise awareness of missing and murdered indigenous women. We invite UNL faculty, students, staff, and members of the community to participate. All events are free.
