The University of Nebraska–Lincoln community identified seven grand challenge thematic areas in which to focus its expertise and resources. Faculty are asked to imagine how their areas of research, scholarship and creative activity intersect with these seven challenges and what specific opportunities within these areas they could work across disciplines to help solve.

The Office of Research and Economic Development and members of the Grand Challenges steering committee are hosting two coffee and donut chats to jumpstart these discussions. Faculty and administrators are invited to learn more about the challenges and the $40 million the university has dedicated to investing in goal-based solutions.
