This 90-minute interactive session will feature and focus on peer review and small group/paired coaching. At the start, Dr. Rohde will briefly review the components of traditional employment materials required for participating in the hiring process of the American job market, both industry and academia. For the remainder of the session, students will pair/group based on the document they wished to be peer reviewed and critiqued. Students must bring a copy of their specific job document(s) they want reviewed. While it is preferred that that the document be hardcopy or printed, an easily accessible electronic copy that can be edited and manipulated in real time is acceptable for this activity. It is recommended that students bring between 1-3 job documents, but not their entire portfolio. Portfolio review needs to be scheduled as a 1:1 appointment with their specific department advisor/mentor. Students should be prepared to participate for at least 20-40minutes of the session, depending on how many documents they want reviewed. Participants must register through NURamp prior to attendance. For additional questions or inquiries, please contact Dr. Lisa Rohde (lrohde2@unl.edu) or Dr. Deanne Sparks (dsparks6@unl.edu).
Tea, water, and light snacks will be available for participants.
