For the 2023-2024 academic year, Undergraduate Education and Student Success paid six students to set their university emails to automatically forward every email they received to Communications Specialist Lydia Coulson for categorization and analysis. One first-year student received over 1200 emails just in fall semester alone. Join us for a look at the emails UNL students are receiving, patterns in communications, and to get an idea as to why students might not be reading your messages. We’ll end with lessons learned and strategies to improve your unit communications and get your messaging out to students.
