As the first of an ongoing series discussing rural issues from a multifaceted global lens, we’re excited to bring our first panel of faculty, extension and alumni with experience from both Nebraska and around the world to weigh in. The panel, consisting of Daniela Mahhani Mattos, assistant professor of practice with the department of agricultural economics and Rural Prosperity Nebraska; Surin Kim, associate professor and extension specialist with the department of textiles, merchandising and fashion design and Nebraska Extension; and alumnus Sushant Timalsina, currently working as a junior product manager at AgriRain LLC, will share their diverse perspectives on some key issues they see facing global rural communities today.
