This brown-bag tour will be led by Kim Todd, UNL Extension Landscape Specialist, and Extension Educator Terri James. The gardens are less than a decade old but they have gone through amazing growth and transformation and offer a great place for testing and demonstration. Though most gardens are planned for earlier in the growing season, Todd says, “There are some great plants for late season beauty and perennials and grasses are in their full glory.”

Participants can park at meters around the Nebraska East Union or near the Dairy Store. In case of inclement weather, there will be a presentation indoors in 102 Keim showing the development of the gardens.

Anyone wishing to listen in can take part online at: connect.unl.edu/brownbag. The presentations are also available afterwards at arboretum.unl.edu/brown-bags. This is part of a brown-bag series on “All Things Green” sponsored by the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum, UNL Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, UNL Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, UNL Garden Friends and Friends of Maxwell Arboretum.

Participants are invited to bring lunch or dinner, if desired, and ideas or questions. For more information about the brown-bag series, call the Arboretum at 402-472-2971, email arboretum@unl.edu or visit arboretum.unl.edu/brown-bags for this and future presentations.
