Lesly A. Temesvari is an Alumni Distinguished Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences and studies the cell and molecular biology of lower eukaryotes. The overall goal of her research program is to understand mechanisms that regulate virulence in the human pathogen, Entamoeba histolytica.
Dr. Temesvari is also a founding member of the Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center (EPIC) at Clemson University. The center, which boasts over 100 researchers, consists of 13 faculty members and their teams, from four departments in the College of Science at Clemson University. The center is focused on the study of a wide variety of globally important pathogens.
