All cellists are invited to participate in this exciting event. Karen Becker, professor of cello in the Glenn Korff School of Music, looks forward to welcoming cellists of all ages to a fun day of music-making. The event takes place on Saturday, Sept. 28, on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus.
This year will feature two master classes – one with Becker and another with distinguished UNL alums Addie Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Grunin. Students wishing to play in a master class will need to submit a five-minute audition video and should check with their private teacher. A session of warmups and stretches will be presented by Husker alumna Molly Rezich. Rezich is a certified yoga instructor and cello instructor at the Omaha Conservatory. A Q&A session will be part of the day’s events. The Cellobration Cello Choir, with all participants, will rehearse and then perform in a 3:30 p.m. concert, along with UNL cello students and faculty soloists. It’s going to be a great learning experience, and we’ll have an amazing time hanging and playing with other cellists.
