Join us at Ignite this week to hear from game designer Francesca “Cesca” Carletto-Leon. Cesca (she/they) is an award winning video game developer and educator specializing in emotion-first design and collaborative multiplayer experiences. Her work combines programming, electronics, and traditional art formats to create playful experiences. They hold an MFA in Game Design from New York University and is a current artist in residence at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago. She presently teaches at Columbia College Chicago, the Emerging Media Arts program at Nebraska, and offers game industry-focused career coaching sessions.
Cesca is former head of curriculum at Code Coven and has worked in the games industry as a designer, producer, and writer (former credits: Filament Games, Fullbright Games, Contigo Games, and more). Her background working in educational games and games for social impact influences her approach to design and her belief that play can be a force for good in our everyday lives.
