The Midwest Innocence Project (MIP), a non-profit legal services organization based in Kansas City, MO, is dedicated to exonerating the innocent in prison by providing pro bono legal and investigative services to inmates with a substantial claim of innocence who cannot afford an attorney. They represent inmates from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Nebraska, and Iowa.
Bring your lunch and listen to Rachel Wester, Nebraska Managing Attorney for MIP, discuss the work that the organization does and opportunities for students to get involved. She’ll be joined by exoneree Ricky Kidd, who was released from prison in 2019 after serving more than 22 years for a crime he did not commit.
RSVP through ROSCOE.
