In this virtual program, Prof. Tierney will discuss Regulating Meme Stocks and Stock Trading Apps. During his talk, he will have 12 minutes to discuss how the internet has made it easy to trade stocks, creating opportunities and risks for markets and investors. This session will discuss how regulators are thinking about the changing role of ordinary people in stock markets increasingly dominated by smartphone trading apps and social media. After 12 minutes has expired, he will take six minutes for questions.
