Constitutional Rot and the Third Reconstruction will be presented by Prof. Anthony Michael Kreis, assistant professor of law at Georgia State University College of Law, focuses his work on constitutional law & employment discrimination.

Talk description: Throughout American history, there have been cycles of democratic crises that have been followed by major changes in the constitutional order. Critical elections like 1800, 1828, 1860, 1932, and 1980 all ushered in a groundswell of multi-generational change in political thought and American constitutionalism. Where do the 2020 and 2022 elections fall in comparison? Where are we now in political time and what does that mean for the future for American democracy and constitutional law? This lecture explores the current condition of the constitutional order and whether the United States is on the verge of a shift in jurisprudential thought.
