Join the Cornhusker Marching Band and the Archives & Special Collections of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln Libraries who are celebrating 140 years of tradition at an Open House, Friday, August 30 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Love Library, Room 218. Get the first look at a new website on the Marching Band history that includes 60 videos, some dated as early as the 1920s, whose digitization was made possible by band alum Gary Steffens, the Band Alumni Association, and the UNL Libraries. Brief remarks will begin at 3:45 pm from Cornhusker Marching Band director Tony Falcone and band alum/website developer Jessica Dussault.
Event goers will have a chance to explore the website with laptops and mobile screens available for their use. In addition, the University Archives and the Nebraska Bands will display some of the materials in their collections, such as photographs, bowl game memorabilia, scrapbooks, drill charts, and the occasional saber!
