Gail Shaffer Blankenau, MA in history, recently produced an award-winning thesis of the same name that rests on the dramatic story of sisters Celia and Eliza Grayson who escaped enslavement from Nebraska Territory in November 1858. Join us as we will discuss the records and clues that give us a fuller view of their lives and relationships in Virginia, Missouri, Nebraska, and beyond.

Gail Shaffer Blankenau is on a mission to help fellow genealogists to succeed with their family history. She shares her research and advice in a wide variety of publications and speaks on genealogy at local, state, and national conferences, as well as at the Legacy Family Tree webinars online.
