A Professional Development Plan (PDP) is a valuable document that establishes both your career development goals and a strategy for meeting them. In this hands-on session, you will learn the three steps to creating an individualized professional development plan. You will have time to use worksheets in the session to start the process of documenting a plan. By the end of the session, you have started creating a useful roadmap for your growth and success. ***WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Individuals interested in an entry-level session on professional development planning basics, those interested in updating their planning skills to apply to their career goals and professional development plans, and supervisors interested in sharing this information with their team members.

Biography: Ranelle Maltas has been a dedicated member of the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL) community since 2000, when she began her journey as an Application Trainer for Business & Finance. From 2007 to 2018, she served as the Learning & Development Manager for ITS, spearheading initiatives to enhance technology learning.

In September 2018, Ranelle transitioned to the Office of Human Resources, where she took on a multifaceted role developing and presenting training programs, coordinating the New Employee Orientation, and overseeing the HR website. Currently, as a key contributor to HR’s Organizational Development & Training team, Ranelle focuses on designing and coordinating professional development opportunities to empower staff and foster growth across UNL.

Beyond her professional work, Ranelle is an active member of the community. She serves on the Board of Directors of the UNL Band Alumni Association and is the Vice President of Technology for the National Association of Alumni Bands. Additionally, she shares her expertise by teaching Excel courses for the SCC Continuing Education Center.

On a personal note, Ranelle is a proud mother of a UNL graduate, a devoted wife to Bill, and co-owner of the Waffleman™. .
