Nonlocal models have been recently used in fracture mechanics, anomalous diffusion, and composite materials, among other application areas. These nonlocal models, which are described by integral equations, bring new mathematical and computational challenges. In this talk, we follow a Fourier multipliers approach for the analysis and computations of nonlocal equations. By utilizing different representations of the Fourier multipliers of nonlocal operators, we show some regularity results for nonlocal equations. In addition, we present efficient and accurate spectral numerical methods for nonlocal models in periodic, as well as, in bounded domains.
