We explain how to create symmetry patterns using Hamiltonian paths, spanning trees, exponential functions, logarithms, and modular arithmetic. These methods were used to create the image for the 2003 Mathematics Awareness Month poster; see https://www.d.umn.edu/~ddunham/mam/poster.html.

This is the 13th annual Pi Mu Epsilon lecture, hosted by Pi Mu Epsilon and Alexandra Seceleanu.
