For 2020, Math Day 2.0 will consist of only the quiz-bowl team competition in a new Swiss-system tournament, pitting three-member teams against each other. The tournament will be divided into two classes, competitive and recreational, with trophies given to the top three teams in each. Two competing bowl teams in each round and are paired using a set of rules designed to ensure that each competitor plays opponents with a similar running score, but not the same opponent more than once. The first-place team in each class is the competitor with the highest aggregate points earned in all rounds.
