Join the students of the Digital Legal Research Lab as they present their research on legal cases of enslaved people seeking freedom. Students, who are accepted to this program from all over the United States, will be encoding Maryland and Missouri freedom suits in the weeks leading up to Juneteenth and will share those stories along with a discussion about the importance of building research models that bring such stories into a broader conversation about American history.
Dr. Katrina Jagodinsky will facilitate the discussion. This event is sponsored by the University Libraries and will be recorded.
