Join the Chiara Quartet, Hixson-Lied Artists-in-Residence at the UNL Glenn Korff School of Music, as they celebrate 11 years of performing in Lincoln throughout the 2016-2017 season. Each concert in the Hixson-Lied Concert Series features a themed journey through the heart of string quartet music. You won’t want to miss a single performance!
The Chiara String Quartet kicks off the 2016-2017 Hixson-Lied Concert Series with a program featuring Beethoven’s visionary string quartet in B-flat Major (Op. 130) along with its original finale, the epic Grosse Fuge (“Big fugue”). Britten’s short but perfect Three Divertimenti,
and Schubert’s stunningly lyrical String Quartet in A minor round out the program.
