The University Chamber Singers will offer a festive holiday season performance as part of First Friday events on Dec. 1 at Sheldon Museum of Art.

The group will perform at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. in Sheldon’s Great Hall. The music will span the centuries, from ancient chant to contemporary jazz and spiritual arrangements. The complete repertoire is available at http://bit.ly/2iIbIQd.

Hot cocoa and cookies will also be available.

Directed by Matthew Oltman, lecturer in music, the University Chamber Singers is the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s premiere vocal chamber ensemble. The group is small, with 24 to 28 performers, and is intended to provide the highest level of choral chamber performance experience for graduate and undergraduate singers.

The choir explores a broad range of repertoire specializing in literature for unaccompanied vocal performance and contemporary vocal chamber ensembles; including works from early music eras, traditional choral chamber music as well as contemporary literature, and new music composed expressly for the group.
