Join the Wind Ensemble conducted by Prof. Tony Falcone for their program titled, Imaginary Ballet. The concert features Dreamcatcher by Walter Mays and the Frank Pappajohn transcription of Percy Aldridge Grainger’s ambitious large-scale work, The Warriors. Also, Daniel Oshiro will perform the Concerto for Alto Saxophone and Wind Orchestra by Ingolf Dahl as winner of the UNL Concerto Competition.

The Wind Ensemble is the university’s premiere concert band. Its select mission is to provide instrumentalists of advanced technical proficiency a pre-professional ensemble experience. With an emphasis on contemporary American compositions, the Wind Ensemble’s repertoire reflects the most recent technical and textural innovations, as well as the rich tradition of wind and percussion music extending back to the Renaissance.
