The Glenn Korff School of Music announces the 12th annual exclusive ‘invitation-only’ Spring Strings Honors Orchestra on February 18th and 19th (also an UNL audition weekend). Our special guest conductor is Maestro Dawn Harms.


Dawn Harms’ diverse career ranges from being a chamber musician, violin soloist, concertmaster, to being a music director and conductor. She is a member of the San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Associate Concertmaster for the New Century Chamber Orchestra, and Co-Concertmaster with the Oakland East Bay Symphony. She also records regularly at Skywalker Studios for movies and video games. She is the co-founder and music director of the Music at Kirkwood chamber music festival, and currently serves on the music faculty at Stanford University.


The event will include a string orchestra performance with Maestro Harms, student master classes with UNL’s award winning string faculty:

David Neely, violin soloist

Clark Potter, viola, Lincoln Symphony Principal Violist

Dr. Karen Becker, cello, cellist with Trio Nuovo and the Concordia String Trio

Dr. Hans Sturm, bass, EMI and Innova recording artist


Advanced high school students who have participated in either an All State or Youth Symphony Orchestra are welcome to register directly. As a director or teacher, you may also choose to nominate an advanced student(s) and share the registration link with them.
