Glenn Korff School of Music Associate Professor of Saxophone Ora Paul Haar presents “Too Late, Too Soon,” a faculty recital in tribute to his late mother on Monday, March 27.

The recital is at 7:30 p.m. in Westbrook Music Building Rm. 119 on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln city campus. The concert is free and open to the public. The concert will also be live webcast. Visit https://music.unl.edu/webcasts the day of the performance for the link.

The recital will be a live presentation of material recently recorded by Haar and Associate Professor of Composition, Emerging Media and Digital Arts Tom Larson.

“’Too Late, Too Soon’ is a saying my mother used to use,” Haar said. “She would say, ‘Too late, too soon we get smart.’ It refers to how we commonly don’t realize how important the small things are in life and how quickly life moves.”

The recital will feature jazz standards that remind Haar of his mother, as well as original music. Standards include “Stella by Starlight,” “Body and Soul,” “Chelsea Bridge,” “For All We Know,” “If You Could See Me Now,” and others. Haar will contribute two original works including, “Dot’s Diddy” and “Too Late, Too Soon.”
