Our laboratory employs Arabidopsis thaliana as a model organism to examine the regulation of plant cell-to-cell communication during growth and defense. We utilize a combination of cell biology, genetics, and biochemical techniques to investigate plasmodesmata regulation. Our recent research has started to unveil the molecular mechanisms governing plasmodesmata regulation at specific cell-cell interfaces. Presently, we are exploring the role of plasmodesmata as hubs for reactive oxygen species, aiming to elucidate their novel function in coordinating communication between cells and tissues.
