NeWP’s premiere program, the Summer Institute is open to teachers of all disciplines and grade levels. The 2020 Summer Institute redesigns the National Writing Project model as a hybrid online/on campus offering to accommodate busy summer calendars. Participants will generate writing, share best teaching practices for writing, and engage in inquiry and research into aspects of writing. Participants may qualify for a monetary stipend to help offset the cost of 6 graduate credit hours in English or Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education.
Institute activities include: writing and publishing exercises, visits with local experts on the teaching of writing, participant presentations on best practices of teaching writing, professional development, technology support for digital writing initiatives.
