Nothing says summer like a piece of tasty pie with a big scoop of ice cream on top! Join me from your own kitchen to make homemade apple pie! When we complete the preparation, you can choose to pop it in the oven and bake it or freeze it to bake right before the fair. Pie can be exhibited in Cooking 401 at the fair.

Materials needed: Flour (3 1/4 cups plus some for rolling out the dough), salt (1 tsp), vegetable oil (3/4 cup), milk (1/3 cup - any kind), apples (8 cups - approximately 6 large apples. I prefer granny smith, but any firm apple will be okay), brown sugar (1/2 cup), ground cinnamon (1 tsp), measuring cups, measuring spoons, pie plate/pan, wax paper (optional for rolling out the dough), rolling pin, spoon/fork for mixing
