This workshop is an introduction to the fundamentals of weaving on a 4-shaft floor loom. Learn how to read a weaving draft, dress the loom, and weave. Each participant will weave his or her own woolen trivet.

This workshop will be two, 3-hour sessions and one, 1-hour session. The fee for this workshop, to pay for materials and the instructor, is $100.00 per individual. This fee covers all three days of instruction for the workshop. If you are not an Innovation Studio member, an additional fee of $20 is added to your workshop fee. There is a minimum of four participants to hold this workshop and a max of ten participants. Please bring CHECKS to the workshop made out to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. WE CANNOT ACCEPT CASH OR CREDIT AT THIS TIME.

The Instructor for NIS’s weaving workshop is Camille Hawbaker, an award-winning artist and teacher working in fiber arts and printmaking. She received her MFA from UNL in 2014, and taught woven and non-woven textiles as a visiting lecturer in UNL’s Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design in 2015.
