Join us for the October Seminar Series featuring Michael Webster, Professor of Psychology at the University of Nevada, Reno. Dr. Webster is a vision scientist whose research focuses on how our sensory systems continuously recalibrate to adapt to our environments. His seminar, titled “Adaptation and Visual Experience,” will explore how these adaptation processes influence perception, affecting almost all perceptual judgments. He will discuss the profound impact adaptation has on shaping whether different individuals experience the world in similar or unique ways.
Michael Webster received his Ph.D. in Biological Psychology from UC Berkeley in 1988 and completed six years of postdoctoral research at Cambridge University before joining the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) faculty in 1994. He currently serves as a Foundation Professor and as Director of UNR’s COBRE for Integrative Neuroscience, now in its third phase. His research has been continuously supported by the NIH since 1994 and provides critical insights into the mechanisms and functions of adaptation in the human visual system.
This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. Register for the Zoom link: https://unl.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_b35s0YOfSdqFf3Nf7ycJHQ#/registration
