The transportation system is strongly linked to land use and built form decisions. This presentation will provide an historical overview of land use modeling and its basis in urban economics. We will discuss both firm and household location choice. A brief summary of the current state of land use models within integrated modeling systems will be provided based on experience working on several of the state-of-the art models.
