Abstract: The electron electric dipole moment (eEDM) is an interesting quantity for it arises from the weak CP violation in the Standard Model (SM). We review the SM prediction of the eEDM and a generic beyond SM approach to account for it. Advanced Cold Molecule Electron EDM (ACME) is one of the experiments projected to measure the eEDM. The ACME collaboration has achieved the most restraining upper limit of the eEDM since 2018. We go through the details about the experiment and understand how a experiment based on atomic and molecular system is carried out.
