At 6 p.m. inside the New Farmers exhibition in the lower-level gallery, Andrew Husa, Great Plains Graduate Fellow from UNL Geography, will give a short talk about rural population in the Plains. While a large number of small towns in rural Nebraska have declined in population throughout the 20th Century, there are some outliers. Husa’s project is to map and chronicle these small towns that have been successful in not only sustaining their population, but adding to it.
