Great Plains Master Beekeeping welcomes Jane Sueme to the Hap-Bee Hour Friday, July 12, 2024 to discuss Sustainable Queen Rearing.

4:30pm-6pm MST/ 5:30pm-7pm CST/ 6:30pm-8 pm EST

With a desire to help a burgeoning number of new beekeepers in the area when the only option was to order on-line, Jane established “Isabee’s Beekeeping Supplies” in 2009, selling supplies out of her garage. Currently her business operates in retail, product assembly, education and bee stock sales providing services and support for the unique vocation of beekeeping that “big box” retailers do not.

As co-founder of Saint Louis Beekeepers, Jane coordinated the SSA (Sustainable Stock Apiary) queen-rearing group, receiving grant funding from USDA-SARE in 2018 and in 2022 where a small group of farmer/ranchers raise locally-adapted, sustainable queens in a chemical-free management program and make both mated queens and nucleus colonies available to St. Louis area beekeepers.
